A recent example is our joint innovation project with FBI GmbH and our partner Emqopter. As part of the first joint field trials, two Emqopter OmniQopter drones ("One for Everything") were handed over to FBI. This marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to explore new applications for drone technology, connectivity, and data-driven processes.

However, the drone itself is not the main focus. What truly matters is how a single technology can be transformed into a connected, practical, and scalable use case.

Drone Technology as a Building Block for New Digital Scenarios

Today, drones offer far more than aerial photography. When deployed effectively, they become mobile sensor platforms capable of capturing valuable information and integrating it into digital workflows.

The two OmniQopter systems each demonstrate different technological strengths.

One of the drones is equipped with a 3D camera and a transport box, making it well suited for flexible inspection and transport applications. Multiple flight modes enable both precise manual control and assisted flight operations.

The second drone is designed for detailed aerial data capture. Equipped with a high-resolution 4K camera, a gimbal for stable imaging, and a LiDAR sensor, it provides the foundation for advanced analytics and automation scenarios.

Both systems follow the OmniQopter concept: a flexible development platform that can be adapted to evolving requirements and future use cases.

The Challenge: Technology Only Creates Value Through Integration

A drone can provide valuable information—for example, up-to-date imagery from hard-to-reach locations or data on the progress of a project. The real challenge, however, lies in turning that information into actionable insights and integrating it into existing business processes.

The handover of the OmniQopter drones marks the beginning of the next phase of our joint development. The initial field trials provide the foundation for evaluating additional use cases and integrating the technology into existing environments step by step.
